Waterproofing Without Membranes? Yes, It's Possible!
Traditional membrane waterproofing wasn't an option for The Glen Car Park Extension project. Our solution? Internal concrete waterproofing using Colloidal Nano Silica with Hydrogel technology.
Project Highlights:
- 🔹 Zero membrane installation - Eliminated the need for traditional sheet membranes, reducing labor and material costs.
- 🔹 Protected retail spaces below - Ensured complete waterproofing for the high-value retail zone underneath the car park.
- 🔹 Passed flood testing during construction - Withstood an unexpected rainstorm during the build phase, proving system effectiveness under real conditions.
- 🔹 Faster construction timeline - Reduced waterproofing application time by 60% compared to traditional membrane systems.
- 🔹 Reduced maintenance requirements - No periodic reapplication or repairs needed, unlike conventional membranes prone to damage.
The Technical Approach
Our holistic solution incorporated AQURON 300 hydrogel admixture in the concrete mix, AQURON 2000 spray-applied to the surface, and strategic joint waterproofing. This comprehensive system transformed the concrete itself into a waterproofing barrier, rather than relying on an external membrane that could fail.
"The hydrogel system saved us significant time in our construction schedule while providing superior waterproofing protection. Even during an unexpected heavy rain event mid-construction, the system performed flawlessly, giving us complete confidence in the solution." - Project Manager
This project represents another successful implementation of our innovative TOP-TECT waterproofing system, proving that advanced technologies can solve challenging construction problems while delivering superior performance.
