The Challenge
Spray apply AQURON - Collodial Nano Silica with Hydrogel to protect a concrete slab against continued acid attack while having a minimal impact on wine production and storage and nil tolerance for wine contamination.
All withing a 48 hour time line for the actual wine production facility !
Step 1: Surface Preparation
High-pressure turbo head water blasting:
Achieved bare, absorbent concrete
Eliminated any impermeable surface coating
✓ Damp surface (no standing water)
✓ All contaminants removed
✓ Substrate absorbency confirmed

Step 2: Application Technique
Equipment:
High-pressure atomizing spray (1500-2000 psi), boom spray and back pack
Critical application factor: atomization, not just pressure
Systematic Process:
Apply multiple light passes (NOT one heavy coat)
Wait for surface sheen to disappear between passes (10-30 min)
Apply next pass while still damp
Minimum 2-3 passes to saturation point
Overlap between passes
